College Honors Program

Program Overview

The College of AI, Cyber and Computing College Honors Program is a collaboration between the College of AI, Cyber and Computing and the Honors College, which offers and supports academically talented students with enriched academic experiences. This College Honors Program is open to students from all majors in the College of AI, Cyber and Computing who have already been accepted into the Honors College.

This College Honors Program offers specialized programming for its students so they can be actively engaged in experiential learning, faculty and staff mentoring, and community building from both the College of AI, Cyber and Computing and the Honors College. 

Program Requirements

Students are required to complete all Honors College and College of AI, Cyber and Computing College Honors program requirements.

Honors College Course Requirements

  • Admitted into the Honors College
  • 3.0 GPA each semester and a 3.3 overall GPA
  • Attend six honors events each academic year
  • Completion of Honors 1000 — (0 credit hour)
  • Completion of HON 2301 Civic Ethos — (1 credit hour)
  • Completion of Honors CSH 1213 Topics in World Cultures — (3 credit hours)
  • Completion of Honors WRC 1023 Freshman Composition II — (3 credit hours)
    Entering students who have already completed Composition II through dual, transfer, or credit earned at The University of Texas at San Antonio have satisfied this requirement.
  • Six Honors Experiences – Each experience requires at least 75 hours of time on task. The experience must result in a significant academic or professional achievement and have a guided mentor.

College of AI, Cyber and Computing Requirements

Students Admitted Fall 2026 and After

Three (3) of the six Honors experiences must be related to a College of AI, Cyber and Computing discipline, and may include any of the following:

  • Professional and leadership development training projects and workshops
  • Research projects under the supervision of faculty, including completing an undergraduate thesis, publishing academic papers, presenting at academic conferences
  • Internships and fellowships
  • Study abroad programs
  • Community outreach, service learning, leadership in student organizations
  • Special programs that are designated by the College of AI, Cyber and Computing as eligible for College Honors Program.

Students Admitted Before Fall 2026

Students who were admitted before Fall 2026 and admitted to another college’s Honors Program may transfer over to the College of AI, Cyber and Computing College Honors Program. In addition to meeting the Honors College requirements, students must satisfy the following requirements, which are based on their original college:

  • Business Honors: Students must complete one (1) Business or College of AI, Cyber and Computing Honors Course (or equivalent), internship, or study-abroad/immersion experience related to their majors.
  • Engineering Honors: Students must complete FIG, EPICS, or Signature Experience.
  • College of Sciences Honors: Students must complete three Honors Experiences related to their majors. The College of Sciences Honors program is the same as the College of AI, Cyber and Computing College Honors program.

Students admitted to the Honors College before Fall 2026 who were not admitted to another college's Honors program will follow the requirements for students admitted in Fall 2026 or later.

Transfer Students

Transfer students who were admitted to the university with 60 semester-credit hours or more must complete at least one (1) Honors Experience that is related to a College of AI, Cyber and Computing major instead of three.

Program Completion

College Honors students meeting all program requirements will receive recognitions for their achievement from the College of AI, Cyber and Computing USAA Student Success Center and have the distinction of “College of AI, Cyber and Computing Honors Graduate” notated on their transcript.
