What Is the Headache Cure Board?
The UTSA Headache Cure Board is a new, donor-funded experiential learning program that challenges students to apply data science, AI, and machine learning to solve real-world problems submitted by industry and community partners.
Made possible through a gift from FEDITC, LLC, the program invites students to become problem-solvers for the future—by working on what others call “headaches.”
How It Works
- Problem Submission – Partners submit real-world data challenges.
- Student Matching – SDS matches student teams to challenges.
- Faculty Mentorship & Support – Students work under faculty mentors.
- Pitch + Prize – Teams present solutions and compete for awards.
Who Can Participate?
Anyone. Interdisciplinary team participation is encouraged.
Awards & Recognition
Student teams compete for prizes—including recognition, stipends, and bragging rights—as they present solutions before an audience of peers, faculty, and professional partners.
