What Is Peer Mentoring?
Our Peer Mentoring program pairs experienced students (mentors) with incoming or transfer students (mentees) to provide:
  • Academic guidance
  • Campus navigation support
  • Motivation and accountability
  • A built-in support network for success

Mentors are trained leaders who serve as relatable, approachable resources and role models—especially helpful for first-generation, undeclared, or STEM-intending students.

  • Navigate UT San Antonio life—from registration to research to resume prep
  • Explore your identity and goals in a safe, affirming space
  • Belong to a community that celebrates your success
Who Can Join?
  • Mentees: All incoming, transfer and first-year students interested in AI, cyber, computing and data science
  • Mentors: Current students majoring in AI, cyber, computing and data science who have completed at least one year at UT San Antonio and are passionate about helping others
Mentoring Services Offered
  • One-on-one mentorship pairings
  • Monthly peer-led meetups on topics like time management, study skills, and career exploration
  • Office hours for support meetings at the USAA Student Success Center
