Description
Visit us at UT San Antonio's San Pedro I building on our Downtown Campus to learn about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) works with your kiddo(s)! We'll have seven interactive software demos created by UT San Antonio students that each present a different concept illustrating how AI works. There's lots more to AI than ChatGPT - you'll design an algorithm for a (virtual) robotic vacuum cleaner; play rock-paper-scissors with an AI opponent that's learning from your moves; and guide a (virtual) ice cream truck to make the most efficient deliveries. Our students will be there to talk with you and your children and guide you through the games. You'll also be invited to participate in a research study about how people learn ideas in AI.
Who is invited and the age range? Children from 9 to 14 accompanied parents of all ages
What attendees can expect during the event? We'll have seven AI demos set up with UT San Antonio students and faculty on hand to help you engage with the software. You'll have a chance to rotate to experience all of the software demos!
Any guidelines (e.g., is it limited to participating parents and children, or can families bring younger/all siblings?) Need to know for room capacity. - We'd like for all who come to participate in the projects directly and be in the desired age range.
