Dr. Yuanxiong (Richard) Guo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity at The University of Texas at San Antonio. His research spans machine learning, trustworthy artificial intelligence, quantum computing and networking, with a particular emphasis on applications in healthcare, energy, and robotics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2014.
Dr. Guo is a Senior Member of both ACM and IEEE. He currently serves as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking. His honors include the UT San Antonio Col. Jean Piccione and Lt. Col. Philip Piccione Endowed Research Award (2024), the UT San Antonio Cloud Technology Endowed Fellowship (2023), the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Visiting Faculty Research Program Award (2017), Distinguished TPC Member recognition from IEEE INFOCOM (2016–2017), and the Best Paper Award at IEEE GLOBECOM (2014). His research has been supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Energy, National Institutes of Health, AFRL, NVIDIA and industry partners.
